HC Deb 08 July 1996 vol 281 cc41-2W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what reductions in funding to the Welsh Development Agency for land reclamation schemes have been made in the current financial year; and if he will make a statement on the implications of financial reductions for schemes where tenders had been invited and accepted, subject to Welsh Development Agency approval. [35925]

Mr. Hague

The agency's budget for land reclamation in 1996–97 is £14 million. The other issues are operational matters for the WDA and I will arrange for its chief executive to write to the hon. Member and for a copy of his letter to be placed in the Library of the House.

Mr. Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list each of the land reclamation schemes under way in Wales, indicating the areas being reclaimed in each case. [35926]

Mr. Hague

These are operational matters for the Welsh Development Agency. I will arrange for the chief executive of the agency to write to the hon. Member and for a copy of his letter to be placed in the Library of the House.
