Mr. MacShane

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what units of the(a) Army and (b) Royal Air Force will participate in the Bastille day parade in France on 14 July. [35736]

Mr. Soames

Eight RAF aircraft will participate in the fly-past along the Champs Elysee to celebrate Bastille day on 14 July. The composition of the RAF participation is as follows:

  • One VC10 tanker from 101 Squadron RAF Brize Norton
  • Four Tornado GR1s from XV Squadron RAF Lossiemouth
  • Three Harrier GR7s from 3 Squadron RAF Laarbruch
