HL Deb 04 July 1996 vol 573 cc113-4WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Where civil servants hold directorships of companies (with the approval of their main employer), whether they are required to reveal those directorships to those members of the public with whom they deal.

Earl Howe

There is no specific requirement for civil servants to reveal to members of the public the non-executive directorships that they hold. However, each department provides guidance which normally requires civil servants to register such appointments with the department.
