§ Mrs. Angela KnightThe Chancellor and the governor have agreed to appoint Sir Andrew Large, the chairman of the Securities and Investments Board—SIB—and Sir David Scholey, a non-executive member of the court of the Bank of England, to the Board of Banking Supervision. They have also agreed the appointment of Howard Davies, deputy governor of the bank, as a member of the SIB. We welcome these appointments, which will strengthen further the links between financial regulators.
