§ Miss WiddecombeThe Prison Service is committed to introducing a computerised system for tracking medical records of the kind recommended in the report of the independent inquiry into the case of Jason Mitchell. Since March, 44 prisons have begun to introduce systems of this kind. Completion of this work will extend beyond October 1996 and will be dependent upon the availability of resources.
