§ Mr. HanleyWe are in close and regular contact with the United Nations, the Organisation of African Unity and other international bodies as well as the Government of Burundi. We have made clear our grave concern at the serious political and security situation in Burundi, our condemnation of politically motivated violence from whatever quarter, and our strong support for ex-president Nyerere of Tanzania in his efforts to broker a peaceful political settlement.
