To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many police officers there were in each of the London divisions in each year since 1988–89; and how many of these officers were allocated to foot patrols. [11855]

Information on the number of officers attached to individual divisions is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Information on the total number of officers attached to divisions over the past eight years and the overall percentage of this time which was spent on street duties are set out in the table:
