To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much has been spent on repairs, maintenance and improvement of the former Yorkshire regional health authority headquarters at Park parade, Harrogate, since January 1986; who owns the building; when it will be vacated; and what receipts from the sale of the lease or freehold on this building will be passed to the NHS. Spending on repairs, maintenance and improvement of the former Yorkshire regional health authority headquarters at Park parade, Harrogate for the financial years from 1986–87 onwards is shown in the table.

The building is currently owned by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health, but on its vacation by the national health service executive regional office, ownership will pass to Dysart Developments Ltd, the developer of the new headquarters for the regional office at Durham. Receipts from the sale of the building will be £2.825 million, which will be added to allocations to health authorities in the region to invest in services for patients.
