§ Mr. BowisHealth and local authorities are responsible for the provision and development of appropriate services in their areas in the light of departmental guidance, "The Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations Volume 6 Children with Disabilities", LAC(92)15 and HSG(92)42, copies of which are available in the Library. We are also funding a number of projects through the voluntary sector which will heighten awareness of the needs of people with autism and assist in the development of services.
