§ Mr. ClappisonThe Government set out their policy on contaminated land in England in the document "Framework for Contaminated Land", published in November 1994. The document proposed a modern contaminated land power, which has been provided in section 57 of the Environment Act 1995. This will apply to any contaminated land in Easington in the same way as elsewhere.
The Department of the Environment does not keep records on individual contaminated sites.
