HC Deb 15 January 1996 vol 269 c384W
Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what(a) guidelines and (b) other advice has been issued by his Department to (i) NHS bodies and (ii) other organisations regarding the use of the private finance initiative. [9079]

Mr. Hague

Detailed guidance on the private finance initiative was issued to the NHS in Wales—under the cover of a letter numbered DGM (95)112, in July 1995. A copy of this guidance has been placed in the Library of the House. Guidance on information management and technology projects within the NHS is being prepared.

The Treasury handbook "Private Opportunity, Public Benefit" is being distributed widely in Wales and this will build on the general advice that has already been provided.

Mr. Milburn
