§ Mr. HanleyHong Kong ethnic minority British dependent territories citizens can become British nationals (overseas) before 1 July 1997. Any who do not apply to become British nationals (overseas) will automatically become British Overseas citizens. Hong Kong ethnic minority British dependent territories citizens have guaranteed right of abode in Hong Kong both before and after 1 July 1997.
