Industrial injuries disablement benefit is paid on a no-fault, non-contributory basis to employed earners who suffer loss of faculty, normally of 14 per cent. or more, as a result of certain prescribed diseases. The table gives the number of industrial injuries disablement benefit assessments in payment in each of the three years in Great Britain, Wales, England and the English regions. I refer the hon. Member to my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland for information in respect of Northern Ireland.
