§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 18 December 1995]: The performance of all staff in the Inland Revenue up to and including band Al level—grade 4 in civil service terms—is monitored through the Department's performance management scheme. District inspectors are in either band A or band B. Above that level, the performance of senior 92W staff in the senior open structure is monitored through the civil service-wide performance review system. Under both systems, an annual assessment of all aspects of performance is made.
