To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement about the present state of availability of emergency beds in London and the available capacity in London's accident and emergency units to respond to an increase in emergency admissions. [8060]

London has 24-hour accident and emergency departments in 35 of its hospitals. Trusts and health authorities work together to ensure that changes in demand are met.
