HC Deb 29 February 1996 vol 272 c631W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will review his allocation of funds to the fire services of Wales consequent upon the formation of the new local government unitary authorities; and if he will make a statement; [17330]

(2) if he will sanction new funds to enable the new North Wales fire service authority to meet its commitments in Clwyd and Gwynedd counties. [17328]

Mr. Sackville

Supplementary credit approvals of up to £2.7 million have been provisionally set aside for 1996–97 to meet the transitional costs of fire service reorganisation in Wales. The allocation between the three new brigades will be reviewed during the course of the year.
