§ Mr. HanleyRelations with Sri Lanka are good. We support the Sri Lankan Government's efforts to secure a lasting and peaceful settlement and urge all who are concerned to make every effort to persuade the Liberation Tamil Tigers Eelam to respond positively to the constitutional opportunities on offer. I visited Sri Lanka last October and have no immediate plans to visit again.
