§ Mr. Roger EvansInformation on the amount of housing benefit paid by local authorities directly to private landlords on behalf of their tenants is not routinely collected. However, during the 1994–95 financial year, a total of £4,878 million was paid in housing benefit to tenants of private landlords and housing associations.
