What is the present situation of Mr. Kani Yilmaz, detained without trial in HMP Belmarsh; whether progress has been made in obtaining hail for him and when they expect a decision to he given on the application for his extradition.

Mr. Faysal Dunlayici (also known as Kani Yilmaz) is not detained to stand trial in the United Kingdom but is the subject of an extradition request from Germany. It is for the courts to decide on any application for hail Mr. Dunlayici might make. Under the terms of the Extradition Act 1989, no decision can he made on whether to order a person's return so long as proceedings on a habeas corpus application are pending. Mr. Dunlayici has made an application for habeas corpus. That application was due to he heard early in the New Year, hut has been postponed at Mr. Dunlayici's request.
