I understand that there are 23 professors of general practice in post: seven at schools of the university of London and the remainder at the universities of Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Dundee, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Keele, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton.
