Mrs. KnightIn January 1993 the quarterly and annual sales of industry inquires were replaced by the quarterly and annual PRODCOM inquiries. These inquiries are conducted under a Council regulation approved in 1991 to harmonise statistics on products throughout the EU. The product data are broadly comparable with external trade statistics at a detailed level.
