§ Mr. Robin SquireIn January 1995, 1,595 pupils were being taught in single-teacher classes of 40 or more pupils in maintained primary schools in Greater Manchester area. This represented 9 per cent. of pupils in single-teacher classes of 40 or more in maintained primary schools in England.
