§ Sir Patrick MayhewIn 1995, the last full year for which figures are currently available, the farm-gate value, including subsidies, of beef cattle sold in Northern Ireland was £414.4 million. It is estimated that 56 per cent. of this total was sold outside the United Kingdom.
