§ Mr. ForthIt is too early to make a proper assessment of the experience of those who leave project work, as the pilot has been running for only eight months. A full survey of those who leave project work is being carried out, and will include details of the jobs they have entered. Results of the survey will be published in 1997. Early indications, however, are that twice as many people leave project work to enter a job as leave a comparable group outside the pilot areas. There is no significant difference in the rates at which all those who leave project work, and those who leave a comparable group, return to the unemployment register.
