§ Mr. Greg KnightThe European Commission's cohesion report demonstrates the United Kingdom's success on unemployment, and in combining economic growth and job creation—unlike much of the rest of Europe. The report also shows that the UK is one of the few countries where regional unemployment differences have decreased, and that since 1989 there has been a narrowing of relative GDP between UK regions.
