HC Deb 04 December 1996 vol 286 c656W
Mr. Robert Banks

To ask the Chairman of the Catering Committee who designed the alterations to the counters and food display cabinets in the Tea Room; and what estimate he has made of the cost of putting it back to how it was. [7455]

Sir Colin Shepherd

Cecil Denny Highton was the architect, and Tricon plc was the food service consultant. Their proposals were approved by the Parliamentary Works Directorate's project sponsor, in consultation with the Director of Catering Services and the Catering Committee.

The reasons for the alterations are set out in the Committee's first report of Session 1993–94, which was debated by the House on 12 July 1994, and reflects the need to comply with current health and safety, fire and hygiene regulations.
