HC Deb 04 December 1996 vol 286 c686W
Mr Kirkwood

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the hospitals which failed to meet statutory safety requirements for(a) waste incineration, (b) fire precautions, (c) control of hazardous substances and (d) prevention of legionnaire's disease, in each of the last five years; if they have since met these requirements; and if he will make a statement. [7291]

Mr. Horam

The information requested is not held centrally. The responsibility for complying with statutory requirements on health and safety issues lies with individual national health service trusts. Enforcement of relevant legislation is a matter for the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency and the Home Office.
