To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if she will list for each local education authority,(a) the change in overall education standard spending assessment for 1996–97 over 1995–96, (b) the change in ASB as reported by section 42 statements for 1996–97 over 1995–96 and (c) the change in ASB as a percentage of the change in education standard spending assessment. The following table covers those authorities which have been unaffected by local government reorganisation. It shows the education SSA and the adjusted ASB figure for each authority for 1995–96 and 1996–97, with the percentage change between each year for each category and the increase in ASB expressed as a percentage of the increase in adjusted Education SSA.
