§ Mr. HoramInformation on the number of patient cases treated each year is published annually in "NHS Hospital Activity Statistics, England", copies of which are available in the Library. The number of finished consultants episodes rose from 8.639 million in 1989–90 to 11.224 million in 1995–96.
