Mr. Worthington

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, pursuant to his answer of 21 November,Official Report, column 662, if he will list the grammar schools with preparatory departments indicating the number of children in those preparatory departments, the number for whom there is a financial contribution from public funds, the amount of that financial contribution to the school, the public contribution per capita and the fees paid by parents to each school per child. The most recent year for which figures are available is the 1995–96 financial year and the number of pupils receiving assistance from public funds and details of the grant allocations to individual schools are given in the following table. Information on fees paid by parents and the number of parents paying the full economic fee is not readily available.
