HC Deb 02 December 1996 vol 286 c486W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will list the 20 largest printing contracts currently being carried out by The Stationery Office, Cardiff; and if he will specify which of them are bilingual printing jobs.[7147]

Mr. Freeman

The Stationery Office is a privately owned company carrying out work for a variety of customers. Its contracts are its own commercially confidential business.

Details of printing contracts let by Government Departments are not collated or held centrally. At the point of sale of The Stationery Office, on 30 September 1996, no contracts or arrangements between Government Departments and HMSO Wales Print Services were transferred to The Stationery Office. One customer contract and one customer arrangement previously held by HMSO Wales Print Services were transferred. The contract was with the Metropolitan police for the provision of printed matter and the arrangement was with Health Promotion Wales for a warehousing and distribution service.

Mr. Morgan

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what representations he has had with respect to the closure of the HMSO printing plant at Llanishen, Cardiff. [7149]

Mr. Freeman

The business of HMSO, including the property at Llanishen, Cardiff was transferred to The Stationery Office and sold on 30 September 1996. I have had no representations relating to Llanishen.
