asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give effect to the recommendation of the Law Commission endorsed by the Court of Appeal in ex parte Evans on 15 November 1996 to give a high degree of priority to the enactment of comprehensive statutory consolidation of sentencing provisions so that such provisions will be accessible and comprehensible.
