To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many grants have been paid by the European Union peace and reconciliation fund towards economic development in Northern Ireland. [6116]

Five of the seven sub-programmes under the European Union special support programme for peace and reconciliation directly promote economic development in Northern Ireland. To date, a total of 544 grants have been awarded under these sub-programmes. In addition, there are other measures within the sub-programmes which indirectly promote economic development in Northern Ireland.
