HC Deb 02 December 1996 vol 286 cc533-4W
Dr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his answer of 14 November,Official Report, column 290, on British bases as part of the implementation force operation, if he will list to whom the payments are being made for the renting of United Kingdom bases in Bosnia and Croatia; and if he will make a statement. Mr. Soames

[holding answer 28 November 1996]The UK does not make payments for facilities owned by the Governments of Bosnia and Croatia. Payments are, however, made for privately owned facilities; while these premises are occupied for military purposes, they are unable to be used for other commercial purposes.
