§ Mr. Soames[holding answer 28 November 1996]The UK does not make payments for facilities owned by the Governments of Bosnia and Croatia. Payments are, however, made for privately owned facilities; while these premises are occupied for military purposes, they are unable to be used for other commercial purposes. It is right, therefore, that private owners should not he financially disadvantaged. Contracts covering all the bases listed in my previous answer,Official Report, column 290, are currently held with the following companies:
