§ Mr. Roger Evans[pursuant to his answer, 1 April 1996, c. 76]: The information that I gave regarding family credit claimants contained a typographical error. The correct information is as follows.
388WThe available information is set out in the table. In order to provide data on a comparable basis, it refers to recipients of family credit at the end of each financial year. This excludes awards beginning and ending during the year and therefore significantly underestimates the number and proportion of awards that last for 26 weeks only. The proportion with longer spells on family credit is thus over-estimated.
