§ Mrs. BrowningIn respect of animals coming to slaughter at 30 months or over, my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food announced on 16 April that a market support measure would come into effect in the week beginning 29 April. The basic premium will be equivalent to the cull cow price, but a supplement in respect of steers and heifers will be available for six months. This will be set at no less that 25p/kg for the first four weeks of the scheme.
