§ Mrs. Angela KnightUnder the Transfer of Functions (Registration and Statistics) Order 1996, SI 1996 No. 273, the Chancellor of the Exchequer is responsible for approving local schemes and regulations relating to the registration service in England and Wales. The agreement of the Secretary of State for Wales will also be necessary for those local schemes for regulations relating to Wales.
