Mr. Roger Evans

This is a matter for Peter Mathison, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member.

Letter from Ursula Brennan to Mr. Frank Field, dated 22 April 1996: As Peter Mathison is away from the office on annual leave at the moment, the Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Questions asking on what date the review of the Benefits Agency's freeline benefit advice line service will be published; what evaluation he has made of preliminary drafts of the report; and if he will make a statement on the future of this service. This is an internal review, which is still continuing, and I cannot comment on any possible findings in advance of its completion. Once the review has been completed, the results will be evaluated in the context of the Agency's overall benefit advice services and running costs. hope you find this reply helpful.
