To ask the Secretary of State for Transport for what reasons EU drivers' hours regulations now apply to some bus services in Cumbria hitherto governed by United Kingdom drivers' hours regulations. [23341]

UK rules apply to services less than 50 km long; the EU drivers' hours rules apply to regular services longer than 50 km using vehicles with 18 or more seats.
