Ms Ruddock

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what procedures have been put in place by his Department to monitor the environmental impacts arising from the implementation of "A Partnership of Nations" White Paper. [25290]

Mr. David Davis

The policies in the White Paper, "A Partnership of Nations", do not have significant environmental implications. It would not be appropriate to monitor their environmental impact.

Ms Ruddock

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what alternative courses of action from those detailed in "A Partnership of Nations" White Paper were considered in environmental appraisals undertaken by his Department. [25288]

Mr. Davis

Ms Ruddock

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what environmental appraisal using the guidance contained in "Policy Appraisal and the Environment" produced by the Department of the Environment to "A Partnership of Nations" White Paper has been subject; and if he will publish the appraisal. [25287]

Mr. Davis

"Policy Appraisal and the Environment" provides guidance on environmental appraisal of domestic policies which will have significant environmental implications. It is not relevant to the policies outlined in the White Paper, "A Partnership of Nations".

Ms Ruddock
