HC Deb 03 April 1996 vol 275 cc280-1W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs on what occasions the United Nations special commission on Iraq has investigated(a) mines and (b) processing plants for phosphates or phosphoric materials in Iraq; and what conclusions they reached. [24200]

Mr. David Davis

UNSCOM has inspected numerous facilities in Iraq connected with the production of phosphates or phosphoric materials. Those with the potential to be involved in producing weapons of mass destruction have either been destroyed or included in the ongoing monitoring and verification system. There is further detail in the UNSCOM report of 10 April 1995, a copy of which is in the Libraries of the House.
