§ Mr. PaiceThe Department has set up a United Kingdom co-ordination unit under the terms of the decision establishing the year. The unit has facilitated bids for European funding and awards have been made to 90142W UK organisations for a variety of projects at national, regional and local level.
I launched the year in the UK at Edinburgh in February, with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and my hon. Friend the Minister responsible for education at the Scottish Office.
