The 21 posts in the ports undertaking will transfer to Devonport. Of the 52 posts on moorings work, 17 will become surplus to requirements.
It is estimated that nine posts will be created at Pembroke Dock to undertake new tasks associated with the moorings operation. These posts will be eligible to be filled by mobile grade staff from Pembroke Dock, Clyde, Devonport, Portsmouth and Bath who have the requisite skills. An additional seven specialist posts may transfer to Pembroke Dock subject to further consideration.
At present there are 90 afloat posts, as detailed in the following table, for the large mooring vessels currently operating out of Devonport and Clyde. The future requirement is estimated as in the region of 48 posts. These vessels will be administered from Pembroke Dock, as will a number of smaller vessels stationed at Devonport and Portsmouth. 43W
