§ Mr. HagueThe main purpose of the system is to improve the administrative efficiency of the Welsh Office by enabling speedier and more effective transaction of business and improved internal and external communication. The project will provide a personal computer for most Welsh Office staff equipped with word processing, spreadsheet, database and diary, scheduling packages and an electronic mail facility. These will be underpinned by a communications infrastructure covering all major Welsh Office sites. The estimated cost of the project includes the maintenance and support of the system over the life of the contract as well as the costs of hardware and software.
