Mr. Heppell

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what factors led to the issuing of an export certificate for a consignment of sheep exported on 17 May from Shoreham to Dieppe containing a heavily pregnant ewe; and what action he proposes to take against those involved in allowing the export of the ewe to take place; [38711]

(2) what action his Department proposes to take in respect of those occasions when the Northern Cruiser sailed from Dover in excessively rough conditions with lorries containing livestock; [38710]

(3) what action he proposes to take over the deaths of two sheep that occurred during their export to France from Shoreham on 17 May. [38694]
