HC Deb 30 October 1995 vol 265 c95W
21. Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what new proposals he has to raise wage levels in Wales. [37850]

Mr. Gwilym Jones

We have achieved low interest rates, sound public finances and an enterprise culture. These are the foundations of a vigorous and long-lasting recovery and are conducive to higher quality, and therefore better paid, jobs.

Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, what is his calculation of the median wage levels paid in each Welsh parliamentary constituency. [39827]

Mr Jones

The available information is based on sample surveys and cannot provide reliable estimates at this geographical level.
