§ Mr. SoamesInformation on the cost of upgrading is not readily available and could be provided only at disproportionate cost. Since 1990, however, about £56 million has been spent on capital projects at RAF Machrihanish to provide and maintain the level of infrastructure necessary at a NATO forward operating base. The majority of this expenditure was funded by NATO.
