HC Deb 30 October 1995 vol 265 c105W
Mr. Blunkett

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if she will make it her policy to safeguard the role of local education authorities. [40149]

Mr. Robin Squire

With the introduction of local management of schools and the growth of the grant-maintained sector, the role of LEAs has evolved significantly. I look forward to their continuing to adapt to changing circumstances.
