For Scotland as a whole, I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on 16 October 1995, Official Report, columns 32–33. For Strathclyde, my Department currently has some 5,100 service and 6,200 civilan personnel based there. A breakdown by Scottish region of jobs in the defence industry is not available.
