HC Deb 27 October 1995 vol 264 c851W
Mr. Gordon Prentice

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what is the Government's policy on flying the union flag from Government and other public buildings. [39847]

Mr. Sproat

The regulations for flying flags on Government buildings are issued by the Department of National Heritage in consultation with the Lord Chamberlain's Office. Under Her Majesty's command, flags are flown on 20 appointed dates. Flags may also be flown additionally by special command of Her Majesty. There are no regulations for the flying of flags on other buildings.
